Olopade Celebrates Daniel’s APC Victory In Ogun

The Managing Director, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Chief Bukola Olopade, has celebrated the victory of his former boss, the former Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as he emerged victorious in the Ogun East Senatorial election.

Daniel was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25th Senatorial elections in Ijebu and Remo axis of Ogun.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced through the Returning Officer, Professor Christopher Onwuka, that Daniel secured 115,147 votes to defeat other candidates in the contest for the National Assembly seat.

Daniel won in all the nine local government areas of Ogun East, defeating the PDP which came second with 58,708 votes and the Labour Party that had 13,061 votes.

Olopade, who served as Commissioner of Sports and Youths Development, during the reign of Gbenga Daniel as governor, noted that, the Senatorial victory was well deserved.

Bukola Olopade expressed optimism that, Daniel will make a fresh impact on the further development of sports in the Ogun East Senatorial zone, just as he did in Ogun State when he was governor for eight years.

“During his tenure as Governor of Ogun State, he built new stadia in the four senatorial areas of Ogun State in Remo – Sagamu stadium, Ijebu – the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Yelwa – Ilaro Sports Stadium, and Egba – MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta. These greatly developed sports in Ogun State at the time.

He added that: “Daniel, also hosted the National Sports Festival in 2006 and the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Ijebu Ode in 2011.”

The Nilayo Sports Management boss also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, for working very hard to give Ogun State a clean sweep in the Senatorial elections held on February 25, 2023. The victories that ensured the emergence of Gbenga Daniel as a Senator.

He also commended Governor Abiodun for his untiring efforts at taking the state to the next level.
