Omeruo Catches Celta Vigo’s Transfer Interest

Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has attracted a fresh summer transfer link with fellow-La Liga side, Celta de Vigo, with permutations pointing in the direction of a quickfire deal this weekend, as his parent club, Chelsea of England are ready to sell him for €7m.

Although Omeruo has all along spoken of his desire to stick with Leganes, rather than head back to face another possible loan exit from Chelsea this summer, he could jolly well be on his way to Celta Vigo instead.

This is sequel to reports out of The Land of The Armada that Celta Vigo were impressed by the 25-year-old stopper’s performances while on loan with Leganes last season, and they are now battling for his signature.

The focus, though, is on Chelsea, who bought Omeruo from Standard Liege of Belgium in 2012, but have loaned him severally since then, first to ADO Den Haag of Holland then twice at Middlesbrough of England and later to the duo of Kasimpasa and Alayanspor of Turkey.

However, Chelsea still own Omeruo’s contract, which has informed Celt Vigo’s approach to The Blues for his contract, only that Leganes are also very eager to sign him in a permanent contract, following his successful debut season in La Liga, during his loan spell with the modest club.

While Celta Vigo have been formally alerted by Chelsea about Omeruo’s availability, Leganes have stated their interest to sign him permanently this summer, but both clubs will now have to see who first comes out with The Blues’ asking fee of €7m for the Super Eagles star this summer.

Goal, though, reports further that neither club has come close to that valuation, which negates confidence being expressed by Leganes that they can strike a deal to sign the player, who now wants to quit Chelsea, as he knows he is unlikely to earn a first team spot at the London club.
