Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa will look to extend her red-hot scoring form as Fortuna Hjørring gear up for a decisive UEFA Women’s Europa Cup encounter against Icelandic side Breiðablik on November 19.
The in-form Nigerian has been one of Europe’s standout attackers this season and added to her tally at the weekend, coming off the bench to net her 12th league goal in Fortuna Hjørring’s emphatic 5–0 away win over Odense in the Danish Women’s League.

With the game deadlocked for over an hour, Nikoline Nielsen finally opened the scoring in the 73rd minute, followed by Samantha Kuhne’s strike five minutes later. Sydney Masur then grabbed a late brace to put the result beyond doubt before Omewa completed the rout.
Rested initially after her midweek Europa Cup exertions, Omewa was introduced in the 57th minute for Josefine Valvik — and she made her presence felt. Deep into stoppage time (90+5), she struck with precision to complete the rout.
Her latest goal lifts her tally to 12 in the league and an impressive 19 goals in 20 matches across all competitions — a return that cements her reputation as one of the most lethal Nigerian attackers currently lighting up Europe.
Fortuna Hjørring sit second on the Danish top-flight table with 26 points from 13 matches, trailing leaders HB Køge by six. With Omewa in red-hot form, the Danish giants will march into their November 19 Europa Cup showdown in Breiðablik with confidence.
