Onyedika banned for final Champions League group game

Date:

Raphael Onyedika will miss Club Brugge final UEFA Champions League group game at Bayer Leverkusen Tuesday after he bagged his third booking against FC Porto.

The Super Eagles midfielder was cautioned a third time as Porto avenged a 4-0 loss in Portugal by winning with similar scores in Brugge Wednesday night.

Onyedika is one of three regular starters suspended for the match in Germany.

“Other players will get their chance and then it’s up to them to show themselves,” said coach Carl Hoefkens in reference to the suspended players.

Belgian champions Club Brugge face a Herculean task winning the group now as Porto are hot on their heels.

They have 10 points, a point ahead of Porto.

Club Brugge are guests of Bayer Leverkusen, while Porto welcome Atletico Madrid.
