Onyekuru: My Desire Is To Stay At Galatasaray

Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru has strongly declared that he would prefer to stay put with the Istanbul-based Turkish Super Lig club, rather than return to his parent club, Everton of England.

Although Everton have hinted in recent months that they are eager to have Onyekuru finally berth at Goodison Park, following his superlative displays on loan at Gala, the Super Eagles star is thinking otherwise.

Rather than make himself available to finally kick-start his career with Everton, who bought him from KAS Eupen of Belgium in 2017, Onyekuru has openly stated that he desires to finalise a move to Galatasaray.

Onyekuru has already attracted immense transfer speculation this summer, with top clubs in France, Italy, Spain and Germany said to be tracking him, but the youngster, who previously played on loan at RSC Andelrecht of Belgium, is set to snub all the overtures, as he is looking only at sticking out for another season with Gala.

While one of the top clubs that is reportedly hunting for Onyekuru is Bayern Munich of Germany, observers believe the winger-cum-attacker may find his first team opportunities more appealing in Turkey.

He would also rather not think of finally settling down with Everton, as he has spent his entire tenure with The Toffees out on loan, but he hit 14 goals and three assists to help Galatasaray win the Turkish Lig title, and admitted bluntly that he now wants to stay put.

Onyekuru told Hurriyet via SportWitness: “My desire is to stay at Galatasaray.

“If Everton listen to me, then I will gladly stay at this great club. But of course, this is something which can be decided between the two clubs.”
