Oshoala Pledges To ‘Keep Working’ In Pre-season

Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala has promised that she will not rest on her oars, but will keep working, following another rain of goals off her boots in a pre-season friendly for her club.

The three-time African Female Footballer of The Year made it six goals in three pre-season matches on Wednesday, when she scored in each half to help her Spanish outfit beat her former North London side, Arsenal 5-2 in a high-profile international clubs friendly.

The 25-year-old met her former teammates for the first time since she left Emirates Stadium in January 2017, after a season with The Gunners’ female side, but she dumped them with her impressive form, which had earlier seen her score one in a 13-0 trouncing of Amed and three in a 5-0 spanking of Marseille.

On her return to Meadow Park, Oshoala shone brightly as she fired the visitors in front after Patri Guijjaro cancelled out Katie McCabe’s opener before half-time.

Five minutes after the restart, ‘SuperDee’ extended the tally for Lluís Cortes’ side before Claudia Pina’s brace overshadowed Kim Little’s effort from the spot, taking her haul to six goals in three build-up games.

Her feat set agog frenetic headlines in England, France and Spain, as the media went viral with superlatives in celebration of the in-form star, who has also played for FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt, Liverpool Ladies of England and Dalian Quanjian of China, but Oshoala has opted to stay focused on preparing for the regular season.

Oshoala, though, declared that she has no intention of slowing down, as she posted on social media afterwards: “Another day at the office ….we keep working @FCBfemeni #Preseason.”
