Oshoala To Face Minsk In Women’s Champions League

Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Osisat Oshoala and her teammates will be up against SK Minsk of Belarus in their next match of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, after both sides were pooled together in the last-16 draw.

While Oshoala will join last season’s finalists to take on Minsk, who used to have former Falcons’ captain, Onome Ebi and battling midfielder, Halimatu Ayinde in their ranks, one of her previous clubs, Arsenal Ladies, will face Slavia Prague, with the first leg away from home, as the English Women’s Super League champions begin their Euro campaign in the round of 16.

Bayern Munich of Germany face a long journey for their away leg to play Kazakhstan’s BIIK Kazygurt, while another German side, Wolfsburg come up against FC Twente, seeing Dominique Bloodworth face Netherlands international team-mate Renate Jansen.

Paris Saint-Germain of France have been drawn to play Icelandic team Breidablik, with another French side featuring England’s Lucy Bronze, Olympique Lyon, who won the Women’s Champions League last season, to face Fortuna Hjorring of Denmark.

Glasgow City have been handed a tie against Danish side Brondby, again with the first leg at home, which may feature Glasgow’s Scotland internationals Lee Alexander, Hayley Lauder, Joanne Love, Leanne Crichton, Rachel McLauchlan and Nicola Docherty.

Man City host Atletico Madrid, captained by the Netherlands’ World Cup finalist and Best FIFA goalkeeper winner Sari van Veenendaal, which will see England’s Toni Duggan come up against her former side after she moved to the Spanish capital from Oshoala’s Barcelona in the summer.
