Osimhen back in full Napoli training, available for Ajax game

Date:

Napoli star Victor Osimhen trained with the rest of the team on Monday and will be available for their reverse Champions League fixture against Ajax at Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Wednesday.

Osimhen has been forced to the sidelines for more than a month but seems ready to be back for the Partenopei.

The Nigeria international trained with the rest of the team on Monday, as Napoli confirmed through an official statement.

“After the 4-1 win away to Cremonese on Sunday, the Napoli first-team squad returned to training at the SSC Konami Training Centre on Monday to begin preparations for the Champions League clash with Ajax on Wednesday,” Napoli statement read.

“Activation work in the gym was the first task of the day. The squad was then split in two, with those who started on Sunday at the Stadio Zini undergoing recovery work. The other members of the squad did strength work and possession-based drills and played in a small-sided match.

“Victor Osimhen was in full training, while Amir Rrahmani underwent physio ahead of medical tests on Tuesday.”

Osimhen last played for Napoli on September 9 in their 1-0 defeat of Spezia in a Serie A game.

The Super Eagle was diagnosed with a Biceps femoris muscle injury which ensured the Nigerian missed two UEFA Champions League game and four Serie A matches.
