Victor Osimhen has resumed training at Galatasaray after a brief injury layoff.
Galatasaray announced the positive update on Saturday via their Instagram account, stating, “Victor Osimhen has been training separately from the team under a specialized program designed for him.”
The 25-year-old striker suffered an injury during Galatasaray’s Super Lig encounter with Kasımpaşa on September 28, scoring a brace during the Turkish Super Lig 3-3 draw. He was forced off at halftime due to discomfort, signalling to the technical bench for a substitution, and was replaced by former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens at the break.
Days later, Galatasaray provided an update on his fitness, delivering a significant blow to the Super Eagles ahead of their AFCON qualifying tie against Libya, which they won 1-0 at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.

After the game, Osimhen tried to ease concerns about his condition, telling fans that he was “fine” and only felt some discomfort in his leg.
The following Tuesday, Galatasaray released a statement with further details about the injury.
“The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match, has been started,” read the club’s statement.
The diagnosis confirmed a strain and minor bleeding in his left posterior muscle group.
As a result, Osimhen missed Galatasaray’s UEFA Europa League match against Rigas FC on October 3, as well as their Super Lig game against Alanyaspor on October 6.
His absence was also felt by Nigeria, as the three-time African champions struggled to find the net in their match against Libya.
