Osimhen unlikely to exit Napoli

A leading German newspaper has reported that it seems unlikely Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli before the end of the current transfer window due to his exorbitant transfer fee.

Osimhen has been a top target on the transfer market for over a year but has managed to stay with Napoli despite high demands.

Although the striker has expressed a desire to move, Napoli emphasizes that he remains under contract until the end of 2026, following a contract extension in December last year.

With Antonio Conte now at the helm of Napoli, the club has been exploring options to address Osimhen’s purported wish for a transfer, as noted by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano in the “Daily Briefing.” However, it remains highly unlikely that any interested party will meet the reported €130 million exit clause in Osimhen’s contract.

At the moment, things are said to be pretty quiet about Osimhen, and previous interest in Saudi Arabia and from Paris Saint-Germain has cooled considerably.

Even an alleged desire from Chelsea, which the “Sun” recently reported on, has not yet proven to be very hot.

The English daily recently reported that the Blues are offering around 45 million euros for Osimhen and are also including none other than offensive star Romelu Lukaku in the deal. The Blues once paid around 113 million euros for the Belgian.

After a rather disappointing season in London, Lukaku spent the 2022/23 season at Inter Milan and 2023/24 at AS Roma. The 31-year-old certainly impressed at both stations. Lukaku’s market value is currently estimated at around 30 million euros.

But that’s not all: In addition to a transfer fee and Lukaku, 21-year-old midfielder Cesare Casadei is also set to move from Chelsea to Napoli. The Italian is likely to be valued at a low double-digit million sum.
