Owumi urges media to rebrand the NPFL to attract investors and fans

Nigeria Premier Football League clubs’ media directors and sports journalists have been urged to focus on rebranding and promoting the NPFL across media channels to draw in more fans and potential investors.

Prince Davidson Owumi, NPFL Chief Operating Officer, emphasized this during the first NPFL media directors seminar in Makurdi, Benue State.

Owumi highlighted that media directors are vital stakeholders in a successful football league and stressed the importance of using various social media platforms to enhance the NPFL brand globally.

He said: “It is true that we cannot achieve much in football business without effective media branding, coverage, reportage and promotions.

The NPFL is our biggest brand and as such we have a duty to package this product  and market it to the world.

“The Nigeria Premier Football League cannot exist without the clubs and as you are working to promote and rebrand your respective clubs, you have to be intentional about presenting the NPFL as the bride of our country’s club football.

“At club level, there are lots of activities both on and off the pitch and we encourage you to create captivating contents from those activities in form of stories, short videos, pictures and graphics that will generate positive conversation about the league”

He further called on management of NPFL clubs to ensure their respective media departments are well equipped to enhance effective service delivery.
