Paris 2024: Chukwumerije Foundation, French Embassy host training for schools  

In the spirit of the recently concluded Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation (CCSF), supported by the French Embassy in Nigeria and the French Institute, will host the ‘Inspire the Future’ workshop tomorrow at Springhall British School in Abuja.

This workshop is part of a series of sporting events organized by the French Embassy across various schools in Nigeria, aimed at showcasing its vibrant involvement in the lead-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

According to the organisers, the objective of the workshop is to inspire, inform and educate the young participants on the subjects of Olympics, taekwondo and self-defence.‘

The workshop, centered around the Paris 2024 Olympics theme of ‘Excellence, Respect, and Friendship,’ will be led by Chika Chukwumerije, Team Nigeria’s captain at the London 2012 Olympics and a medallist from the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Approximately 60 students are set to participate in this exclusive workshop, which will feature basic self-defense training for girls, an introduction to taekwondo, and discussions on Olympic values and the history of Nigerian taekwondo at the Olympics.

The event is supported by the French Embassy in Nigeria and the French Institute.
