Paris 2024: D’Tigress beat Australia in Olympics upset

 D’Tigress, the reigning African basketball champions, began their Paris Olympic Games campaign with a significant triumph, defeating the highly favored Australian team, the Opals, 75-62.

This victory marks Nigeria’s first Olympic win in 20 years, with their last victory occurring at the Athens 2004 Games.

In what has been hailed as one of the biggest upsets of the current Olympics, the D’Tigress delivered a remarkable performance under the leadership of coach Rena Wakama, overcoming the Australians at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
