Paris 2024: D’Tigress lose 74-88 to USA, crash out of Olympics

Nigeria’s D’Tigress were defeated 74-88 by the United States in the quarter-finals, concluding their impressive campaign at the women’s Olympic Basketball event in Paris.

The loss marks the end of Nigeria’s participation in the tournament.

Despite a strong push in the final quarter, where they outscored the USA 26-12, the American team managed to hold their lead and secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Nigeria struggled in the first three quarters, losing 17-26, 16-26, and 15-24, respectively.

Throughout the tournament, the D’Tigress achieved historic milestones, including their first-ever Olympic win and becoming the first African team to reach the quarter-finals in Olympic basketball.
