Super Falcons are in a critical position at the Paris Olympics, needing a victory over Japan in their final group match and favorable results from other games to have any hope of advancing as one of the best losers in the women’s football tournament.
The Super Falcons suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain on Sunday, marking their second consecutive loss by the same margin.
This setback leaves them at the bottom of Group C. Coach Randy Waldrum’s team struggled with finishing, and Spain’s Alexia Putellas capitalized on a free-kick in the dying minutes to secure the win.
