Peseiro Congratulates Golden Eaglets, Flamingos on AFCON, World Cup qualification

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has congratulated the Golden Eaglets and Flamingos for their qualification to the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Golden Eaglets booked a place at the U-17 AFCON after beating Cote d’Ivoire in their semi-final clash at the Cape Coast Stadium on Tuesday.

Nduka Ugbade’s boys will face Burkina Faso in the final on Friday.

The Flamingos will also compete at the World Cup in India next year after a 1-0 aggregate win against Ethiopia last month.

“Congratulations to both the Nigerian U17 women’s and men’s teams for qualifying to World Cup and AFCON, respectively, “Peseiro wrote on his Twitter handle.

“They are the future of Nigerian football and deserve our full support.”
