Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has revealed that the team will get better despite a mixed performance in the Nations Cup qualifiers.
Peseiro-led Eagles suffered an embarrassing 1-0 loss to Guinea Bissau in Abuja on Friday before winning 1-0 in Bissau on Monday to regain top position in Group A.
Under the Portuguese coach, the team has struggled for form and has come in for criticisms from Nigerians.
The former Venezuela coach is confident that the team will get better in subsequent games.
“First, we lost even though we had created what was necessary to win, then we won while maintaining the same level. However, what has been fundamental to our success is our trust in our processes, in each other, and in our identity,”Peseiro wrote in his Facebook page.
“On the field, the players have shown their commitment to winning for Nigeria and making Nigerians proud.
“The work does not end here. We remain determined to continue the hard work and bring glory to our team.
With each game, we are more motivated to achieve our goals. The journey ahead may be long and challenging, but we are ready to face any obstacle that comes our way.”
“As we move forward, we remain united in our resilience and strength. We are confident that together, we can continue to make progress and achieve even greater things for Nigeria.
The Nigerian people can be proud of their team and the hard work we put in day after day. Together, we will continue to make history and to bring glory to Nigeria.”
The Super Eagles will be back in action against Sierra Leone in June.
They currently lead Group A with nine points from four games, two clear of Guinea-Bissau.
