Former Anambra State Governor and Presidential candidate of the Labour party in the 2023 Presidential election Peter Obi, was spotted at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Friday during the Super Eagles versus Palancra Negras quarterfinal match.
Obi was seen watching with keen interest the midst of other supporters including members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC). While he was busy focusing on the battle for survival between both teams on the pitch some of the supporters who recognised him were seen trying to take selfies for the keeps.
Interestingly a photo of Obi in the crowd when late super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi lifted the trophy in 2013 edition the last time Nigeria won the trophy also emerged on social media.
Nigeria sent Angola packing to zoom into the semifinals after Ademola Lookman delivered the only goal of the match. A second goal courtesy of a photo finish header by Victor Osimhen in the 77th minute was ruled out by VAR for offside.

There are very strong indications that the Eagles will go all the way to the final in this tournament. The Jose Peseiro tutored side will next take on the winner in the match between Cape Verde and South Africa in the semifinals.
The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa will settle their scores on Saturday February 3rd. Some have described Eagles as a low scoring side but many say it is better to get a goal win the match than score a dozen goals and lose.
