Philip Shaibu dumps PDP for APC

Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the People Democratic Party (PDP).

His decision to return to the APC was announced during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council in Benin City, where he was accompanied by key members of the Dan Orbih-led Legacy Group of the PDP.

In his statement, Shaibu declared, “On behalf of the Legacy Group, I announce our movement to the APC.

We are here to contribute positively to the party and reclaim our state. Our actions will speak louder than words. We are prepared to forge ahead fearlessly.”

He expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, saying,

“As stakeholders, we are committed to supporting Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa in reclaiming our state.”

Shaibu also took a notable step during the event by publicly kneeling before his former political mentor, Sen Adams Oshiomhole, which was met with applause from the audience.
