President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on his 65th birthday, commending his significant contributions to governance, democracy, and national development.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised El-Rufai as a dedicated administrator, scholar, and politician whose resourcefulness and brilliance have left a lasting legacy on the nation.
The President highlighted El-Rufai’s influential roles in Nigeria’s political sphere, including his tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007, during which he initiated transformative reforms, as well as his two terms as governor of Kaduna State.
Tinubu also acknowledged El-Rufai’s critical role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he helped secure the party’s victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections.
“President Tinubu celebrates Mallam El-Rufai on this special occasion and commends his unwavering commitment to democracy, his outstanding service to the nation, and his mentorship of the younger generation,” the statement said.
The President wished El-Rufai continued good health and strength for his ongoing service to the nation.
