The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for Lagos State Command.
The announcement was made by Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC spokesperson, in a statement on Monday afternoon.
Prior to this appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police for the Port Authority, Eastern Ports Command in Rivers State.
His appointment followed a Monday morning interview conducted by the PSC Chairman and Commissioners, including DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd).
CP Jimoh, a former Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) and a native of Kwara State, brings extensive experience in police operations, administration, and strategic communications.
His previous roles included Deputy Commissioner at the Airport Command, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigations.
CP Jimoh has participated in various specialized training programs, such as the Combat Operations Course at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and the Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure course at the U.S. First Responder Training Institute. Additionally, he has attended the Social Construction and Management Training at the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, Maritime Rescue and Salvage for Developing Countries at the China Maritime Academy in Ningbo, Anti-hijacking techniques and tactics training at Yunnan Police College in Kunming, China, and the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
