Qatar 2022 fallout: Man City boss Guardiola has rejected Brazil job, says Ronaldo

Ronaldo Nazario has revealed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has this week turned down an offer to take the Brazil post.

After the Selecao’s elimination from the World Cup, coach Tite resigned, with the Federation (CBF) immediately making an approach to Guardiola to succeed him.

Ronaldo confirmed: “There was interest in Guardiola, it was discussed with him, but he preferred to stay at Manchester City.

“It may’ve been difficult for the CBF to reach an agreement, because he is the highest paid coach in the world.”

Tite, 61, has been in charge of Brazil since 2016.
