Qatar 2022: Ronaldo predicts country to win World Cup, names best player

Date:

Brazil legend, Ronaldo Nazario, has predicted the country to win this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo also backed France forward, Kylian Mbappe, to win the best player of the tournament.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is in its semi-finals stage, with Argentina, France, Morocco and Croatia being the four teams remaining in Qatar.

Argentina will take on Croatia in the first semi-final tie on Tuesday.

France will clash with Morocco in the semi-final tie on Wednesday.

Speaking with AS, Ronaldo, a two-time FIFA World Cup winner, said: “My prediction was always a Brazil-France final. Brazil is gone, and France right now is the big favourite.

“Mbappe is having a great World Cup. He has incredible physical and technical qualities. He may be the best player.

“He has natural talent and, at 23 years old, the experience of having won a World Cup.”
