France defender Theo Hernandez has told Lionel Messi that Les Bleus are not afraid of the Argentina captain ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.
France beat Morocco 2-0 to book their place in the final of the Mundial, while Argentina defeated Croatia in the first semi-final on Tuesday.
Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani scored for Les Bleus as they beat the Africans and set up a meeting with Lionel Messi-led Albiceleste.
Messi has been superb in the tournament and was on the score sheet once again and assisted another as Argentina brushed aside Croatia 3-0.
The Argentine captain has already scored five goals and provided three assists so far.
But France’s Hernandez said he is not scared about facing the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The French defender instead noted that Lionel Scaloni’s entire team are well-balanced.
The Atletico Madrid defender told RAI: “Messi doesn’t scare us, we know Argentina has an incredible team. We need to recover well to be at our best on Sunday.”
