Qualification For 2023 AFCON Is Our Target – Lookman

Ahead of the doubleheader qualifier against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau, Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has insisted that getting the ticket to the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast remains their target.

The former Leicester City attacker is one of the main men in the Nigerian side having scored 12 goals for Atalanta in the Italian Serie A this season.

While speaking ahead of the game, Lookman hopes to bring his goals into the team but maintains that qualifying for the main competition is their priority.

” Looking forward to another big game for us in the qualification for the AFCON, and yeah, another big opportunity for us to get closer to that.

It’s nice to score goals which I’ve been doing and I look to hopefully take that into the team here and keep working hard.

“It’s about the team winning and also about us here qualifying for AFCON which to me and every one of my team-mates is the most important thing,” he said.
