Reps to align budget process with national planning objectives – Isiaka

The House of Representatives is set to hold a national workshop aimed at aligning the federal budgeting process with Nigeria’s National Planning and Economic Development framework.

Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, announced this in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Isiaka stressed the importance of ensuring that the nation’s budget process “perfectly aligns” with national planning objectives to drive sustainable development.

He noted that the upcoming workshop is designed to address existing imperfections in the budgeting system.

The lawmaker, who represents the Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency of Ogun State, remarked that Nigeria’s economy has “turned the corner.”

He attributed the upward – looking economy and rising investor confidence to the bold reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and stressed the need to sustain this positive trajectory to fast-track economic growth.
