Ahead of tonight’s kickoff of four nation tournament in Mexico, Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre says the girls are ready to give their best.
Plumptre bared her mind in a short interview posted on the team’s social media handle ahead of the match.
The four-nation tournament will kickoff on Wednesday, 15 February, with Costa Rica taking on Colombia in the opener.
The Falcons will tackle hosts Mexico also on Wednesday at 10pm (Nigerian time).
And Plumptre is confident of the Falcons putting up a good show in the tournament.
“We prepare for every game knowing we are trying to win and we will compete to the best of our ability to make sure we get the results,”she enthused.
On whether the team is capable of winning all the three games lined up, Plumptre who has established herself in the Super Falcons defence, said the games will be taken piano piano as no two games are ever the same.
The tournament is part of Super Falcons build up to the FIFA women world cup billed for later this year in New Zealand and Australia.
Falcons who have become perennial qualifiers of the FIFA Women World cup will be hoping to post an impressive run in this year’s event.
