Rivers United head coach Finidi George believes his team fully deserved the three points from their 3-1 home victory over Heartland on Saturday.
The win, secured at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, marked Rivers United’s first triumph of the season.
Meanwhile, Heartland, managed by former Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Amuneke, continued their search for a first win.

Kabir Abdullahi scored twice for Rivers United, with new signing Taofeek Otaniyi also finding the net.
Christian Molokwu scored Heartland’s only goal of the game.
“It was a good game, we started with a high tempo and after that goal the tempo dropped and Heartland) started playing, unfortunately, they got that goal and we were furious about it.
“We have to ginger the boys, especially in the second half,” Finidi said during his interaction with the media after the game.
“The second half was for us; they couldn’t do much apart from one or two breaks they had; we controlled the game, and overall, we deserved to win.
“The team is practically new, so we have been working with the players tactically and technically, and they are responding.”
