The Nigerian’s time is the fastest recorded in the NCAA so far this season and the fastest ever by a Texas Tech University sprinter.

It is also the 2022 Commonwealth Games 4x100m gold medallist’s personal best which catapaulted her to joint eighth with Mercy Nku in the Nigerian all-time list.

Chukwuma is expected to be in action this weekend at the Red Raider Open which is also being hosted by her school at the Sports Performance Center. .

The Nigerian will be the cynosure of all eyes as athletics faithful will be looking to see if she can duck inside 7.10 to become the joint sixth Nigerian to do that in history.

The duo of Christy Opara-Thompson and Chioma Ajunwa holds the fastest time ever by a Nigerian over the distance (7.02).
