Ruth Usoro remains on The Bowerman Watch List

Date:

Nigeria’s triple jump champion and record holder Ruth Usoro was named to The Bowerman Women’s Mid-Indoor Watch List Wednesday afternoon.

Usoro has competed in one meet this season and that was the season-opener (Corky Classic).

In that meet, the 24 year old placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.37m while taking first in the long jump with a mark of 6.48m.

She would be named the Big 12 Athlete of the Week following the season-opener.

In the entire NCAA landscape, Usoro currently ranks eighth in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump.

Last month Usoro was named on the 2022 Precision Bowerman Watch List, making it the eighth time she has featured on the list.

Her recent nomination makes it her ninth.

In Texas Tech history, only 2019 men’s finalist Divine Oduduru has had more career appearances (10) on The Bowerman Watch List.
