Saudi Arabia’s recruitment drive to bring the best talent in the sport is reaching overdrive this summer.
The Middle East nation already has Cristiano Ronaldo playing in its domestic league for Al-Nassr.
Now it appears they are intending to land seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi when he leaves PSG in the summer.
While Messi has not committed to any club for the coming years, he does have a very enticing offer on the table.
Per L’Equipe, Saudi’s desire to land Messi has seen them offer a two-year contract worth €1 billion to the World Cup winner. Al Hilal are the club behind the move.
Messi is already a tourism ambassador for the nation as it hopes to host a coming World Cup tournament in that part of the world.
