The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Agbaje Opeyemi Olukayode (South West) as the new Chairman of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), following his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Also confirmed were four other nominees, who will serve as national commissioners of the agency.

They include Hon. Hafiz Muhammad Kawu Ibrahim, OON (Commissioner, Technical – South West); Samuel Chigizie Uwandu, CPA (Commissioner, Inspectorate – South East); Charles Efe Sylvester Emukowhate (Commissioner, Finance – South South); and Bello Abubakar Malabu (Commissioner, Administration – North East).
The confirmation followed the Senate’s consideration and adoption of the report by its Committee on Establishment and Public Service, presented by the Committee Chairman, Senator Oluwole Fasuyi Cyril.
Presiding over the plenary, Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for “nominating these outstanding Nigerians to serve,” expressing confidence that the appointees would “add value to the agency and strengthen pension administration in the country.”
