AC Milan squandered a two-goal lead to settle for a 2-2 draw against struggling Parma on Saturday, leaving them level with Napoli at the top of Serie A.

The Rossoneri raced into a 2-0 lead by the 25th minute, with Alexis Saelemaekers opening the scoring and Rafael Leao converting a penalty, seemingly poised to move two points clear of Napoli ahead of the champions’ tough trip to Bologna on Sunday.

However, Parma hit back before halftime, with Adrian Bernabe curling in a superb goal to halve the deficit. Enrico Delprato then nodded in a glancing header to earn the hosts a deserved point, lifting them two points above the relegation zone.

Milan had chances to restore their lead, including Mateo Pellegrino striking the post moments before Delprato’s first goal since January, but they were forced to withstand a relentless Parma attack in the second half.

Milan can be overtaken on Sunday by Roma and local rivals Inter Milan, who take on Lazio at the San Siro, with both teams a point behind the leading pair.

The away side could have escaped with a win as substitute Christian Pulisic and Saelemaekers wasted golden opportunities to score.

Pulisic rolled wide when one-on-one with Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki in the 76th minute, and six minutes later, Saelemaekers blasted over in front of an open goal, having already skipped around Suzuki.

Juventus, three points adrift of AC Milan and Napoli, were held to a 0-0 draw by city rivals Torino on Saturday, a match that followed a goalless morning until Alexis Saelemaekers opened the scoring for Parma.

The Bianconeri remain fifth on 19 points after a scrappy but entertaining Turin derby at Allianz Stadium, where both sides had opportunities to claim victory.

Scotland forward Che Adams saw his low-drive effort brilliantly denied by Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio in the 63rd minute. Moments later, Torino’s keeper Alberto Paleari produced an even more spectacular save to keep out Weston McKennie’s close-range header.
