Serie A: Brazil legend Careca backs Osimhen to do well at new club

Date:

Brazil legend, Antonio Careca has kind words for Victor Osimhen and has tipped the striker to have a positive impact when he leaves Napoli for another club.

Osimhen was the hero of Napoli’s Scudetto success last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave the Partenopei at the end of the season.

Careca heaped plaudits on the striker for his exemplary displays but hopes Napoli will find a worthy replacement when he move elsewhere.

“I hope that he (Osimhen) can continue to do well just like he did in Naples. I met him, he is a respectable boy and he did very well with Napoli, scoring many goals and contributing to the championship victory. Should he really leave I believe Napoli can find a new player worthy of Osimhen,” Careca was quoted by Napoli Magazine.

The Nigeria international, who joined Napoli from Ligue 1 outfit, Lille in 2020, has registered 74 goals and 18 assists in 129 appearances for the club.
