Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to keep Luciano Spalletti at Napoli and is reportedly planning to increase his salary in a new contract.
The 64-year-old Italian coach took over at the Partenopei in the summer of 2021 and has built a strong squad in the Campania capital, taking them to unprecedented heights.
Spalletti’s Napoli are on track to win their first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona and are considered one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season, facing Milan in the quarter-finals.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Spalletti’s current contract expires at the end of this season and Napoli want to protect his future beyond a simple one-year extension, so De Laurentiis is drawing up a new contract for the coach.

The current idea is to offer Spalletti a new two-year deal worth around €4m net per season plus add-ons.
Much depends on the outcomes of this season, however, as winning both Serie A and the Champions League could push Spalletti to consider a new challenge, similar to how Jose Mourinho left Inter following the Treble winning campaign.
The two parties will sit down in the coming months to discuss the future and there is little concern from the Napoli perspective.
