Shehu Cherishes Award Of Excellence In Kebbi State

Bursaspor of Turkey defender, Shehu Abdullahi has expressed ddelight and appreciation over the award of excellence he received earlier this week in Kebbi State.

The award was presented to the former Soko United, Kano Pillars and Anathosis Famagusta of Cyprus player by the state governor’s wife’s pet project, MedicAid Charity Foundation, in recognition of the support he has given in the battle to eradicate cancer.

The award came few hours after Abdullahi and his Super Eagles’ pal, Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia star, Ahmed Musa paid a courtesy visit to Kebbi State governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu after his inauguration same day.

Abdullahi and Musa said they undertook the visit to both congratulate Bagugu on his victory at the polls, during which he was re-elected for a second term in office in March.

Abdullahi and Musa are in Nigeria after returning from their club duties ahead of entry national team camp billed to open on Sunday, June 2nd in Asaba, Delta State for 32nd edition of African Cup of Nation in Egypt.

Before travelling home, Musa won the Saudi Arabia League (SAPFL) title, while Abdullahi’s club were relegated, but both former Kano Pillars stars have now turned their attention on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Abdullahi revealed that he has put behind him the disappointment of relegation with his club in Turkey, as he took to social medai to flaunt the award and state how delighted he was to receive the plaque in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

He stated: “I’m honoured to receive @MedicaidCF ‘Award of Excellence’ in Kebbi State on Wednesday.

“I commend the Founder of @MedicaidCF & Kebbi State First Lady, @DrZSB for her hard work to eradicate Cancer in Nigeria & her amazing job globally. Together, we can eradicate Cancer in Africa.”
