Shooting Stars will strive to maintain their recent impressive form as the season progresses, according to head coach Gbenga Ogunbote.
The Oluyole Warriors defeated Kwara United 1-0 at the Ondo Sports Complex, Akure on Sunday to record their second win in five days.
Experienced forward, Sikiru Alimi missed a penalty for the Ibadan club in the second half.
Joshua Akpan, however, scored the winning goal in the last minute of added time.
Ogunbote refused to be carried away by the two straight wins, saying that the team will continue to fight to get better.
“It is a good thing that we won today (Sunday) but that is not to say we are there yet. We will keep on pushing to get to that level we are aiming,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
“The important thing is that we are winning after a winless run and we are not ready to take our feet off the pedal,” said the manager who hailed his players for keeping their heads high despite the winless run.
Shooting Stars will welcome Remo Stars to the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, this weekend.
