Smart City Coach, Dabiri Praises Players Over Dakada Draw

Smart City fc of Lagos, grossly experienced and hard-working coach, Sodiq Dabiri, has said that, he is totally happy and grateful to his players for putting up a sterling performance and crowning it with a valuable point against Dakada fc of Uyo, in an NNL week 9 clash on saturday, at the Eket township stadium, Uyo.

City who came into the game wounded from their home defeat to crown fc last week, took the game to dakada from the start to finish, putting up a good fight, which paid dividends at the end of the day.

Both sides battled each other in the early stages of the first half, trying to find the back of the net, but all efforts by both sides proved abortive as the first half ended in stalemate.

City took the lead in the 72nd minute of the second half through gangling striker Kalu Daniel, who finished brilliantly with a low fine shot from the edge of the box that caught Dakada keeper napping, to send the city bench into joy and celebration. City players knew what they wanted. They want to leave Uyo with a positive result they defended with everything in their arsenal, but Dakada were able to draw level in the 80th minute of the game, through Kingsley Akpan, all efforts by either side to find the winner, didn’t materialise, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Speaking after the game, Smart City coach Sodiq Dabiri said his players played well and they deserved the draw.

“I want to thank God for the draw, it was a well deserved result for us, my boys played really well and we are happy to get a positive result from a good side like Dakada, this result will further boost our morale going into our next game at home, and by the special grace of God we will consolidate this draw with a victory in next game at home”, he said.
