Smart City Coach, Gafar Resigns Joins First Bank Ahead NLO New Season

Head Coach, Smart City Football Club of Lagos, Mohammed Gafar has tendered his resignation letter and joined First Bank Football Club of Lagos.

In a chat with Sports247.ng this morning, Gafar said he had left the newly promoted NNL team for a personal reasons and pitch tent with First Bank ahead of Lagos FA Cup and Nationwide League One, NLO.

“This is to officially inform you that I have left Smart City Football Club of Lagos due to the reasons best known to me. Presently I am now with First Bank Football Club of Lagos and I have started working with the club in preparation for the Lagos FA Cup and NLO league,” he said.

Asked why he left his former club, Gafar said he left the club for a new challenge and thanked the Smart City boss and the management staff for their support given to him throughout his stay in the club.

Commenting on his new appointment, Gafar disclosed that during his own tenure, First Bank Football Club would be stronger and ready to fight for the promotion.

He revealed that he had already started working on the team ahead of Lagos FA Cup and promised the club fans good outing in the year 2023.
