Smart City End First Round As Log Leaders

Smart city fc of Lagos, has ended the first round of the NLO, as league leaders, after posting a great performance in the first half of the season.
City who played seven games in the first stanza, winning five and drew two games to end up as group A1 leaders.
City who only on Thursday consolidated their first position with a hard fought 1-1 draw against magic stars fc, at the Nitel training ground on Thursday evening.
Speaking after the game, smart city coach, Rasheed Jimoh, told newsmen, that, he is very happy about how his players conducted themselves in the first stanza of the league season.
“I want to give kudos to my players for their resilience and commitment in the games we played so far, they gave their best and we got results which made us to be on top of the table” he said.
“The second half of the season will be very tough too, that’s why we are not going to rest in our quest for promotion to the NNL”.
“We will continue to train, there will be no break for the players, because we know what we want to achieve at the end of the day” he added.
Smart city are currently topping the nationwide league one A1 table, with 17 points from 7games, while their closest rivals, magic stars, are six points adrift league leaders smart city.
The NLO second round will resume in two weeks time.
