The much talked about SPOCS Scouting Tournament will finally take centre stage today, Monday, October 2, as all roads lead to Ikenne in Ogun State for the commencement of the program.
The event, which will hold at the Remo Stars stadium, will parade 30 teams from the length and breadth of the country.
While speaking to newsmen, the SPOCS Nigeria host, Agbejoye Gbenga, said they are fully ready even as their expected agents and scouts from abroad all came in Sunday to re-emphasis their level of preparedness and commitment to the program.
“I can assure you 100% that we are ready.
“We wish all the participating teams the best of luck”, he concluded.
“All our expected agents and scouts came in yesterday and they are fully settled in at their respective hotel rooms with the teams as the tournament begins today.
“We have absolute confidence in the teams that are participating in the program, which we hope to see the best of football and fireworks as teams match up.
In some of the early fixtures for Day 1 of the tournament, Beyond Limits will tackle Shooting Stars in the opening match while FC Bethel Sporting and Jobi Sports will do battle.
Ojodu United and Imperial will try each other for size while Box 2 Box will clash with SGFC Athletics.
Dosu Joseph will take on Via FC while Utility Sports and Bayelsa starlets come head to head immediately after the breakfast break.
In other fixtures still scheduled for the day, Jo Sportyne will entertain Dream FA while Best Talent and Essential FC will lock horns.
Team 360 will play Ajuwa while Smart City will draw the curtains against Rangers Int’l in the last match of the day.
The tournament will last for four days, beginning today, Monday, October 2 to Thursday October 5.
