Summer Transfer: Osimhen closer to Man United than Arsenal, Chelsea

Top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is more inclined towards a summer move to Manchester United, despite ongoing links to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Osimhen recently stated that he “does not know what will happen in the summer,” amid speculation he could sign a permanent deal with Galatasaray, expressing his admiration for the club, saying he “really loves” it.

The Nigerian striker has been a key contributor to Galatasaray’s success this season, scoring regularly and helping the club build a six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig. However, they were eliminated from the Europa League last week by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

With 20 goals in 26 matches across all competitions during his ongoing campaign with Galatasaray, Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after transfer targets, especially with ongoing links to the English Premier League.

Romano indicated that the 26-year-old is more likely to listen to offers from Manchester United. “He’s open to hearing from Man United, as well as more clubs for sure,” Romano said, according to Football Transfers. “But again, it’s not something being decided now in February with Man United; it will depend on the budget. For Osimhen, respecting his current salary conditions at Napoli is a key point.”

Osimhen joined Galatasaray last summer on a loan deal that lasts until June 2025. The agreement is a dry loan, with Galatasaray covering his salary, which amounts to €10 million until June. His Napoli contract includes a release clause worth €75 million.

Romano also mentioned interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG, but noted that Manchester United appear to have made Osimhen a priority in their search for a new forward.

Osimhen has no future at Napoli after a fallout with the club last year. Following a turbulent summer of failed transfer moves, Osimhen parted ways with his agent and was excluded from the squad, with no chance of returning under the leadership of new manager Antonio Conte. Rather than train alone for the first half of the season, Osimhen opted to join Galatasaray on loan.

His relationship with Napoli soured further after the TikTok incident, where the club’s social media mocked his penalty miss against Bologna. Last season, Osimhen had a tough time on the pitch, and Napoli struggled to defend their Serie A title, finishing 10th after their Scudetto-winning 2022-23 campaign
