Date:

The 26-game unbeaten run of Bendel Insurance has finally ended after losing 2-1 to Rivers United in the ongoing Super 6 on Friday afternoon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After playing 18 games in the regular league season without a defeat, the Edo Arsenal continued their unbeaten run in the Super 6 playoff.

Played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, after a scoreless 30th minute Morice Chukwu put the defending champions ahead on the stroke of halftime.

Insurance came out smoking in the second half but they were unable to break down the backline of Rivers United led by Super Eagle invitee Ebube Duru.

Midfielder, Joseph Onoja made 2-0 for the Pride of Rivers in the 90th minute but another Super Eagles invitee Divine Nwachukwu reduced the deficit for Insurance as the game ended 2-1.
