Super Eagles begin training in Abuja for AFCON 2023 qualifiers

The Super Eagles returned from the United States of America on Saturday and will have their first training session in Abuja on Sunday night ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.

Jose Peseiro’s side will entertain the Leone Stars at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Thursday.

The West Africans will then travel to Marrakech, Morocco for the matchday two encounter against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday, June 13.

The Super Eagles lost their two friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador in the US.

The team will have two more training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Peseiro has freshened up his squad for the qualifiers with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo, and Captain Ahmed Musa joining the team in Abuja after missing the qualifiers.
