Super Eagles goalie back in training

Maduka Okoye

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has fully recovered from his injury and rejoined training with his Udinese teammates.

The Nigerian shot-stopper is making his return to the field amid the ongoing betting scandal he is currently involved in.

The 25-year-old had been sidelined since December 2024 due to a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist. According to Italian outlet Tutto, Okoye returned to training on Wednesday alongside his teammates.

“It was a day of returns at the Bruseschi sports centre, with several players who had been sidelined due to injury back on the field. Alongside Keinan Davis and Kingsley Ehizibue, Maduka Okoye also participated in this week’s training session as the team prepares for their upcoming match against Napoli,” the outlet reported.
