The Super Eagles have touched down at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State following a challenging experience in Libya ahead of their 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
The team, which left Nigeria on Sunday, faced an unexpected diversion to a remote airport far from their match destination.
This forced them to endure an extra three-hour road journey.
The situation took a turn for the worse when the players, pilots, and crew were stranded at the Libyan airport for over 13 hours, without access to basic necessities such as food, water, or a place to rest.
Photos showing the team sleeping on airport benches circulated widely on Monday, sparking criticism from Nigerian officials.
Fortunately, the Super Eagles have now safely arrived in Kano after their flight was finally cleared to depart from Libya.
