Perennial contenders Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked a place in the 2024 edition of Women African Championship of Nations (WAFCON) after beating their cape Verdian counterparts 2-1 Tuesday evening. The Falcons had earlier in the first leg played in Abuja whitewashed Cape Verde 5-0, thus progressing on 7-1 aggregate over two legs.
Cape Verdian ladies were the first to ‘call the police’ like they say in local gist after the shot into the lead in the match Tuesday as early as the 8th minute through Ivania Moreira.

The homers enjoyed the bragging right maintaining the lone goal lead to the delight of their countrymen all through the first 45 minutes and into the second half.
But Esther Okoronkwo canceled the lead in the 62nd minute of the match before dogged and rugged Rashidat Ajibade delivered the winner in three minutes of added time to closed the case for good. It would have ended 3-1 but Substitute Esther Okoronkwo earlier 55th minute goal was ruled out for offside before she finally delivered the killer seven minutes later
