Super Falcons interim head coach Justine Madugu has reassured fans that Asisat Oshoala remains a vital part of the team, despite her absence from the upcoming international friendly against France.
Oshoala was notably excluded from the 20-player squad announced by Madugu on Sunday, just as she was also absent from the Super Falcons’ double-header against Algeria last month.
Madugu explained that the 30-year-old striker, who plays for Bay FC, was left out of the France match due to an ongoing documentation issue.

The coach clarified that Oshoala’s visa and work permit had expired, and she is currently in the process of renewing them.
“Her absence is due to documentation issues, not because she isn’t good enough,” Madugu emphasized. “She’s working to sort out her visa and work permit, and unfortunately, she cannot leave the US until that’s resolved.”
The Super Falcons are set to face France in Angers on Saturday.
