Super Six Hostilities: Rain Wreaks Havoc In Delta, Edo Queens’ Clash

A heavy downpour about 15 minutes after the showdown between Edo Queens and Delta Queens kicked off, took the shine from the eagerly awaited game that had promises of thrilling the fans and give them value for their time.

But, the encounter, one of three on offer on day one of this season ending Super Six competition ended in a barren draw as the waterlogged pitch impeded play.

However, before the heavens opened up to water the earth, Delta Queens had the better of the host and might have opened scoring.

The match indeed caused a stir at half time as officials were in a dilemma arising from suggestions to conclude it the next day.

However, Aisha Falode the Chairperson of Nigeria Women Football League, in a chat with this reporter did not agree with the advice explaining a shift will disrupt the fixtures.

The matches continue Tuesday.
