Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi on Sunday presented his club jersey to has Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari in London.
The first class monarch who marked his 27th years of ascension is currently having his holiday in London where Awoniyi met with him.
During the visit, Awoniyi who hails from Kwara State presented a replica of his jersey to the Emir who also in turn blessed the former Union Berlin striker with prayers.
The former Liverpool striker was born and bred in Ilorin where he found and nurtured his dream as a footballer.
Awoniyi, 25 has scored three goals for Nottingham Forest so far in the current English Premier league season. The team is 18th placed with 13 points on the log after 15 round of matches.
The Emir of Ilorin is also known for his love for football. Most prominent of his involvement in the game was becoming the Vice President of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).
He was also the leader of the Nigeria delegation to the Seoul Olympics in 1988.
